Zootechnical litter dryer with ammonia and hydrogen sulphide elimination. Especially suitable for chicken farms in general.

Zootechnical litters are generally a problem that constantly worries all breeders, and this is true both for the breeders, who tend to have a permanent litter and for the ones, who add straw, wood shivers or other materials in order to keep animals in a dry environment and in particular in a place without Ammonia.

Ammonia is a colourless gas, which is lighter than the air and soluble in water. It has a very sharp odour, which can be smelt even at very low concentrations such as 0,0005% or better 5 ppm in volume.

Ammonia is an irritating gas, which can be very harmful at high concentrations. In intensive zootechnical farms it often causes mucosa and eye irritations, cough and foaming at the mouth and, if the concentrations are very high, it can also kill the animals.

The EEC Directive CEE 80/1107/CEE dated 01/10/1989 establishes the maximum levels allowed for Ammonia exposure, as listed below:

• AMMONIA level with 25 ppm: 8-hour maximum exposure
• AMMONIA level with 35 ppm: 10-minute maximum exposure

Now, after many years of researches, we have at our disposal a new safe economic revolutionary compound, which is also environment-friendly and able to neutralize the harmful action of the ammonia gases present in intensive zootechnical farms.

Following a test carried out in a ground-rearing chicken farm, there has been a 60% reduction in ammonia and a 90% reduction in hydrogen sulphide, comparing the values obtained before and after the treatments.

DEOMIX is suitable for direct applications in the farms and requires no expensive installations (a simple bellows to spread powdered products is enough).

Spread directly on the litter or on the ground following these instructions:
recommended dosage of 1 kg x 10 m² on Mondays for the first three weeks; then use the product, when ammonia odours can be smelt again

DEOMIX is only active in presence of ammonia and its action has a duration of 24 hours a day. Its composition is similar to a fibre-based compound containing catalysts immobilized on partially fossilized materials and on bacterial-enzymatic compounds in order to favour ammonia and hydrogen sulphide absorption and fixation.

It is specifically conceived for ground-rearing chicken farms or for litters of any kind to keep them dry and eliminate ammonia and hydrogen sulphide.
