Slow-acting adjuvant for ammonia and hydrogen sulphide elimination.

The success obtained by our product DEOPOL/15 has driven us to examine closely the problem and finally to produce DEOPAST/30, which is a low-solubility concentrate of DEOPOL/15 with a slightly different formulation due to the addition of a product, whose action consists in the breakdown of the substances responsible for the formation of hardpans and deposits.

The addition of such component and the compression of the product, in order to produce tablets with an approximate weight of 800 g, have highlighted that DEOPAST/30 can melt gradually and so the product is able to keep the fludization effect in the dung, preventing the formation of bad smells.

DEOPAST/30 accelerates the seasoning process of zootechenical slurry thanks to the elimination of the free ammonia, which has an inhibitory action on some microbial substances responsible for the slurry stabilization.

Both DEOPAST/30 and DEOPOL/15 are insensitive to antibiotics and disinfectants and therefore they can be also applied in those cases, like rabbit farms, where the strongly medicated feed prevents the dung fluidization, using bacterial-enzymatic products only.

A test carried out on rabbit dung fed with medicated feed has demonstrated that, using exclusively BIOMAR E/16, it is possible to obtain the dung fluidization, but this latter gives off a strong intolerable smell. The addition of DEOPOL/15 and/or DEOPAST/30 has completely eliminated any smell, and so it is possible to spread such fluid over the ground without causing any olfactory troubles.

Finally, we can say that the action of DEOPOL/15 and DEOPAST/30 consists in eliminating bad smells and not in hiding them.

To give a further demonstration of the above mentioned effects, we have carried out some tests in farms, where the ammonia emission was quite higher, in particular during summer months, obtaining the following diagram:

As specified at the beginning, the application of DEOPOL/15 might be also recommended in those environments, such as dumps, composting industries etc., where the organic compound transformation generates ammonia and/or hydrogen sulphide.
